Russell Wellner is a rousing folk singer writing acoustic barnburners, ocean inspired folk music and protest songs for our time. With voice, acoustic guitar, harmonica and a stomping boot, Russell has grown from the kid busking on Toronto streets to a performer who has toured across Canada.

While living on Vancouver Island from 2021-2024, Russell volunteered at the Fairy Creek Old-Growth Forest Blockades. Incredibly inspired, he decided to use his voice as a songwriter to help the cause. He wrote “When the Forest Calls for Help” which became an anthem for the movement and received widespread acclaim.

After a successful 2025 West Coast Fall Tour, Russell is currently planning a big summer of music (stay tuned!).

Russell has a collection of music released online and recently recorded a full live album in Toronto with a release set for midsummer 2026.
